Natalya, being a Muscovite, you became an example for millions of Russian girls who dream of a modeling career. How and why did you decide to take part in the Miss Russia 2011 beauty pageant?
Honestly, never in my life have I thought about becoming the owner of the Miss Russia title. I came to the casting just to try my hand, and it was a real surprise for me when I was chosen to participate in the competition. After that, I decided that every chance that life gives me is worth taking advantage of. Therefore, I went to the competition.
Was this the first beauty contest in your life?
No, the Miss Russia contest was my second attempt (smiles). A few months before him, I took part in a beauty contest, which was held among students of Moscow universities. I represented my university at it, but did not receive any titles or awards.
What do you feel now when you are crowned with the Miss Russia 2011 crown? What does this crown mean to you? Is there any desire to get the Miss Universe diadem once?
The Miss Russia crown is a special honor for me. My life has changed a lot since I got this title. Now I know for sure that a person can change his life for the better. I am sure that I can offer real help to those who need it, and I try to do it in the best way. This fall, I participated in two major international beauty contests - "Miss Universe" and "Miss World".
Unfortunately, I did not receive a single crown there, but it was such an unforgettable experience that I was just happy.
What was the most difficult for you during the Miss Russia contest?
I have very warm and close relations with my mother and sister, and it was very difficult for me to stay away from them for almost a month. Perhaps this was the most difficult with the participation of the contest "Miss Russia 2011".
In addition, high heels have become a huge challenge for me! In preparation for the contest, we went to them for hours, and it was awful! I just didn’t feel my legs! But I must admit that the Miss Russia crown was worth all these torment and restrictions! Everyone knows that the title of “Miss Russia” is not only a beautiful title, but also a lot of responsibilities imposed on the winner of the competition.
What are you doing as Miss Russia 2011 now?
The organizing committee of the Miss Russia contest is conducting large-scale charity work. We work closely with numerous organizations and related foundations. Since March, I have attended many charity events; on some of them was involved as a leader, somewhere, lectured. I like to do charity work, I am convinced that by joint good deeds we are able to help many.
How do Miss Russia responsibilities affect your ordinary life, studies at the Russian State University for the Humanities, and relationships with family members and friends? Does your family support you?
Of course, my family always and in everything supports me. It doesn’t matter to my family what title I have today. Even if I become president (laughs). Family is one of the most important components of my life. It is very important to support each other and help, even though we live separately.
Natalia, please tell me what connects you with a brand such as Russian Standard? What do you think about the products, services and worldwide presence of this brand?
Russian Standard Bank, being part of a large holding of the same name, is one of the main partners of the Miss Russia national beauty contest.
I always take part in the events held by the Russian Standard, and I consider their products and services to be excellent. In the UAE, the Russian Standard brand was involved in the opening of the new Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel in Abu Dhabi, where I was invited to an inauguration ceremony. The date coincided with the weekend on which the stages of the Formula 1 races fell, and Russian Standard held a Sunday party on a yacht in the harbor of Yas Marina on this occasion. This was my first visit to the United Arab Emirates, and I really liked it here!
Do you have friends among Russian and international top models, fashion designers and other celebrities?
I live in Moscow, and there people spend all their free time at parties. I often go to various parties where I am invited along with other celebrities. Of course, I know our most famous designers, because I work with them; I have many friends among popular models and actors. Usually I talk a lot with people, and for me, as a rule, it makes no difference whether this is a “star” or “just” a person. What is really important is the personality, the inner world of a person, his behavior and goals in life.
What did you like most and remember during your trip to the UAE?
"Formula 1"! It was cool! I always knew that this was an exciting sight, but I could not even imagine how interesting it really was! Auto racing is such an emotional show that I could not restrain myself and screamed from the stands along with the rest of the fans, supporting our rider Vitaly Petrov. I was also introduced to Michael Schumacher - it was awesome!
What would you like to wish yourself and our readers in the new year?
I want to wish all readers of the Russian Emirates magazine good health, prosperity and success. I am sure that all dreams come true! Therefore, I wish everyone the fulfillment of their most cherished desires!
