Today we celebrate another milestone - 40 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the UAE. The fact that these anniversaries practically coincide is not only symbolic, but also has a special meaning.
December 8, 1971, our country was one of the first to recognize the UAE. This decision was based on sympathy for the friendly emirate people, on sincere respect for his will and historical choice. An important role in establishing our diplomatic relations was played by the first UAE president, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who paid great attention to the development of relations with foreign countries.
Four decades ago, we took an important step, which largely determined the nature of the further development of our interstate relations, and ultimately brought us to a high level of partnership and cooperation in all areas. Today we build our interaction on the proven principles of trust, equality and mutual respect. "
On the occasion of the celebration of such a significant date for the reception, representatives of the UAE state ministries, foreign diplomatic missions accredited in the UAE, the business elite and journalists arrived.
The festive program of the evening was attended by pianists Yulia Podekaeva and Irina Zakharova, harpist Olga Efimova, pupils of the Little Stars children's dance group led by Taisiya Baidun, jazz compositions by Alec Sheikh, Russian songs and romances performed by Elena Basano. The banquet room was decorated with children's drawings by students of the art class Elena Glazyrina, as well as paintings by Russian artist Sergei Polyakov.
