The first rock park in the United Arab Emirates opens in November 2017.
Dubai, UAE. The first Via Ferrata in the United Arab Emirates - an equipped rocky section for climbers with mounted bridges, stairs and safety ropes - opens in November on the highest mountain in the country - Jebel Jais in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. This extreme attraction will also be the first on the entire Arabian Peninsula.
The length of the route is 470 meters. In addition, three cable cars are equipped on the territory, the longest of which stretches 300 meters.
Three routes have been laid along the park. A standard course for beginners and amateurs is called the Ledge Walk. It is held by a group of 8 people in 4 hours. The average difficulty course is higher and takes 3.5 hours. The most technically difficult route will suit professionals and take 1.5 hours.
Only visitors over 12 years old and weighing from 40 to 98 kg are allowed in the park. Free buses will run to the park at 08.00 and 13.00. The official opening is scheduled for November 18.
