Applause, applause ...

Toward the close of the annual Abu Dhabi Festival 2011

8th intThe international music festival in the Emirate’s capital once again took place from March 19 to April 4, 2011 under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and its main theme was the slogan: “Harmony for humanity”. The festival program struck with its richness even the most spoiled critics and admirers of classical art: large-scale and solo concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, seminars, discussions and numerous public educational programs were held throughout the country. However, the main venues were the stage of the capital's Emirates Palace Hotel and Zaha Hadid Pavilion.

Recall that traditionally the organizer of this grand cultural event is the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF). This Fund was created in 2004 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Information and Culture. In 2007, the Festival passed under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. To the credit of the organizers, it is worth noting that world-famous musicians and performers from all over the world took part in this Festival, in addition, a variety of cultural trends, including music, dancing, jazz, ballet and fine art, were presented in its framework.

Classical music lovers had the opportunity to enjoy the greatest masterpieces performed by the Belgian Royal Chamber Orchestra Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of conductor Valery Ovsyannikov, world-famous pianists from Lebanon, Ukraine, Russia. USA, as well as Ukrainian violinists and violists.

The “highlight” of the final opera gala, which dropped the festival curtain on April 4, was the performance of the outstanding Russian baritone Dmitry Hvorostovsky and soprano Ekaterina Syurina, who, accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra, performed a program composed of works by Rossini, Mozart, Verdi and Puccini. Hall applauded! In a ballet gala concert entitled "Max and Irina represent the stars of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky" stars of the Russian ballet scene - Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Belotserkovsky shone. Musical accompaniment of the gala evening of Russian ballet was performed by artists of the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of conductor Valery Ovsyannikov.

Just a few hours before the ballet concert, our correspondent managed to talk with Valery Ovsyannikov, a young but already famous conductor, yours on various world platforms - from Turin and Madrid to Istanbul and Tokyo. Here is how Valery Ovsyannikov commented on his participation in the Abu Dhabi Festival 2011: "I flew to Abu Dhabi just before the performance, but I hope that everything planned by the organizers of this cultural event goes according to plan. Immediately after the concert, I will fly away again, and I’m very I’m sorry that I won’t be able to listen to the performances of many participants in the festival. "

To the question of what drives him in search of new ideas and impressions, and what is the key to the success of the conductor, Valery replied: “I have a wonderful school of the Leningrad Conservatory behind me. During my training, I still found those great teachers who they laid the foundation for me that I can realize today with the help of talented musicians. The key to success, in my opinion, lies in honesty for my profession and great hard work. And, probably, to the extent of the talent that the Lord God gave us. It’s not for me to judge this. ate they talk about what we are doing. The conductor, like the captain of the ship, is responsible for the orchestra and for all situations that may happen. In my memory there were force majeure circumstances: the ballerinas fell during the performances, and the orchestra malfunctioned.

At such moments, some internal reserves turn on. The main thing is to keep cool. After all, the conductor - he is the conductor for that, in order to bring together music with dance on the stage. This is my profession, in which I have been more than twenty years old. Due to the fact that I serve in the theater, I had to work with almost the entire ballet elite - this is Ulyana Lopatkina, Leonid Sarafanov, and many other stars. Our artists are welcome everywhere and warmly welcomed around the world. I hope that this year in Abu Dhabi, our ballet performed by Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Belotserkovsky, as always, will make a splash. And I hope that we will take part in this festival annually. "

So another journey into the world of classical music and contemporary art ended. Abu Dhabi Festival 2011 is over. Do not be upset if you missed something. Ahead of us are new festivals and new stars! At a minimum, at the Abu Dhabi Festival 2012, and maybe as part of other projects. In the meantime - applause, curtain!
