Bridgestone: the pursuit of excellence

The world famous Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone Corporation has announced the release of new TURANZA GR-90 tires. Their main features are: increased ride comfort, smooth response to steering turns and low noise. The new tires are suitable for installation on European and Japanese luxury cars and will be available in a wide range of sizes from 14 to 20 inches, in addition, special low-profile versions will also appear.

To reduce noise and increase comfort without sacrificing ride and grip, Bridgestone engineers have developed two new technologies. These are special and L-shaped grooves which, due to their configuration, eliminate the usual whistling noise and minimize the high-frequency noise, which leads to vibrations and is heard inside the cab.

The composition of the rubber compound contains an increased amount of silica, which reduces rolling resistance. In addition, engineers have developed another unique solution - a new asymmetric tread pattern. The outer and inner sidewalls have a different shape, and on the inside there are straight grooves that also reduce rolling noise. According to Bridgestone, asymmetric sidewalls improve the dynamics of the car while accelerating in a straight line and minimize the influence of random external forces that appear on uneven road surfaces.

Another interesting feature of the tires was that during their development, engineers paid special attention to preventing noise with a frequency of 1 kHz, which is the most annoying for drivers.

New Turanza GR-90 tires will become the flagship tires of the premium tire line. In the secondary market, the new tires will target owners of Toyota Corolla, Innova and Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia (15 inches), Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata Transform, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 (16 inches), as well as Mercedes- Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A6 (17 and 18 inches).
