In order to catch the first date with the “ghost”, I had to leave Dubai in the direction of Abu Dhabi at dawn. But, believe me, subsequent experience has met expectations. The new Rolls-Royce Ghost is the most powerful and fastest car in the history of the company: 563 horsepower, 4.9 seconds of acceleration to a speed of 100 km / h! The car is just packed with electronics, including traction control and an infrared pedestrian detection system. With all this, it is quite conservative in general and traditionally comfortable. As expected, the serial RollsRoyce Ghost is practically no different from the conceptual version of the 200EX.
Contrast silver color of the hood and the windshield frame is an option - you can order a one-color car. There are 12 colors to choose from, list their names for lovers: Adriatic Blue, Claret, Darkest Tungsten, Dark Indigo, Diamond Black, English White, Ensign Red, Jubilee Silver, Lunar Blue, Metropolitan Blue, New Sable, Sea Green. Cars are painted in the same workshop as Phantom, but it takes seven days to paint and polish one Ghost. 
Keyless entry system is already found on many models of modern cars, but it is unusual for a conservative brand like Rolls-Royce: Ghost unlocks itself when the owner with the key fob approaches him at a distance of 1.5 meters. Inside - the traditional Rolls-Royce style: simple, deliberately "craft" forms, leather, massive wood panels, chrome details, ventilation holes such as an eyeball. The interior is highlighted with lamps with matte shades. The screen on the front panel is hidden under a wooden cover, and additional functions can be controlled either by a rotary controller with many buttons, which is located on the center console, or by voice. The shape of the rear seats allows you to slightly turn to the interlocutor sitting next. By the way, you can choose a solid sofa, as well as individual chairs with massage, heating and air conditioning. As an option, a mini-bar with light, a compartment for glasses of champagne, folding tables for lunch are offered. In the backs of the front seats you can install 9-inch monitors, and in the glove box - a changer for 6 discs. An interesting point, in the front doors, as in the Phantom models, are teflon-coated umbrellas. Oh, these prudent Englishmen, every minute expecting rain!
The new Ghost is equipped with various auxiliary electronic systems, however, developers pay attention: they were designed so as not to interfere with the driver and not to confuse him, but to make the operation easier and more enjoyable.
Our driver, “seconded” to a test drive in Abu Dhabi, Alena Semeshko, shared her impressions of driving the Ghost: “The first thing I liked was the ease of handling - just hold the steering wheel with two fingers (by the way, the steering wheel is unusually thin). Second, that it occurred to me - it’s very simple to stuff the car with buttons, it’s harder not to overdo it to match the design and image of the car. Inside, Ghost has a minimum of buttons and a sense of “luxurious simplicity.” Ornamenting decor elements makes interior design more interesting. "
For the convenience of drivers, Ghost is equipped with an infrared night vision system that allows pedestrians to be detected up to 300 meters away and displayed on a monitor. The distance to the object, its speed and direction are determined, and according to the results of the analysis of the information, the machine issues a warning to the driver. Also in the list of equipment is a Head-Up display (all the necessary information is displayed on the windshield), an "alarm" warning with vibration about the intersection of the dividing strip, adaptive headlights, active cruise control with Stop & Go function. Parking is assisted by several cameras in the front and rear of the car.
Combining traditional comfort and high dynamics allows air suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers. It is very sensitive and able to adjust its characteristics, for example, if the passenger sits on only one side. Ground clearance is adjustable within 25 millimeters. The 6.6 liter V12 engine with two turbines develops 563 hp, which allows the car to accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h. The ZF has an 8-speed automatic transmission. Average fuel consumption is 13.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
“By the way, they say that if you compare Rolls-Royce driving from different series, then Ghost will look like a tailor made in an atelier, and Phantom will look like a tuxedo. I was personally bribed by silence and complete sound insulation, so it seems to me that Ghost is perfect for long trips. You don’t feel tired at all: there is no external noise, ease of operation. Ghost seems to glide on water, not on the road, "summarizes Alena Semeshko. “And now, the strangest thing: 80% of owners drive their own RollsRoyce themselves, although it seems the car is designed and equipped with everything you need to enjoy a ride in the back seat. Soft mats are all worth it!”
