Launch of Dubai's new international airport postponed for a year

The head of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, made a statement on the postponement of the commissioning of the new Dubai airport Al Maktoum International Airport, the second in the emirate and one of the largest in the world, in an interview with the American newspaper The Atlanta Journal Constitution, also adding about the reduction of runways from six to five. Griffiths did not indicate the reasons for the postponement of the launch date of the airport.

According to the plan, Al Maktoum International Airport, estimated at US $ 33 billion, was supposed to start operations in June of this year. Its capacity will be up to 160 million passengers and 14 million tons of cargo per year.
