Venus in furs

As you know, for most women, wherever they live, at the pole or equator, it is difficult to resist the gentle touch of fur.

Each time dictates its own conditions, and the current fashionistas are no longer satisfied with furs in their natural form. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for fur that has been changed beyond recognition: it is knitted, weaved, lightened, dyed and modified so that it becomes like expensive fabric. Such technologies are now applied to beavers, raccoons, muskrats, Canadian sables, foxes and recently popular seals.

North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) is rightly considered one of the world leaders in the field of such innovations. This year, the turnover of the North American Fur Association, which celebrated its 335th anniversary, amounted to more than 3.6 million mink skins and 100 thousand silver-black fox skins.

Recently, this company hosted the Fatum show in Dubai, demonstrating part of its fur product range. The public was presented a collection of eight world-famous designers, specially created for display at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi. Under the bottomless desert sky, NAFA brought together the world's leading manufacturers - such as Malamati, Pelleteria Groenlandia, Jindo, Ego, Varni, Avanti, Alaska Furs and the Russian Ekaterina.

About the last company should be told specifically. She owns Fur Refrigerator, the only enterprise in Moscow where the inner walls of warehouses and storage are lined with Indian cork. It retains such temperature and humidity, due to which the fur does not fade and does not dust. The company is now expanding, opening new stores in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev.

Among the fur products sold by the company there is silver sable with gray hair, and a soft lynx belly, white with black spots, and an ocelot cheaper than a lynx. However, preference is still given to furs from Russia: animals here grow in cold conditions
and quickly reach the desired fat content and hairiness. Therefore, Russian fur is rightly considered the most practical to wear. And in addition to the most beautiful one: even Ekaterina sews products of all colors, including pink, recently fashionable, from mink fur.

What does the podium start with?

The collections expressed eight attitudes towards fur, eight views on its aesthetic capabilities. Bold innovative design and sports dynamics, youth style and nostalgic ethno, philosophical alienation of minimalism and elegant sophistication of the “classic” - these are the images proposed by eminent artists.

For their models, the designers chose the short-haired mink of North America, known for its thick underfur and silky structure. Although the velvet Black NAFA set the tone, guests of the show appreciated the dazzling white mink, the luxurious lynx and the royal sable, the dramatic silver-black fox and the bright red fox of the color of fire cherry, brutal raccoon and universal beaver.

Not to mention the coyote and the youth muskrat ... In short, all the diversity that the inexhaustible natural pantries of America and Canada share tirelessly with the world.

The skills and experience of the Association's specialists were the key to the fact that the Black NAFA quality label on the mink or lynx skin around the world serves as the highest quality mark. Only 5% of the world's furs have such an honorable mark. This fur inspires outstanding fashion designers. Roberto Cavalli, Claude Montana, Gianfranco Ferre have become regular "consumers" of these elite materials.

“The most important thing in creating our products,” said Tina Jagros, executive director of NAFA, “is a selection of skins that are the same in quality and color, similar in pile length, structure and other characteristics. This is just one aspect of the work that starts with fur ".

Dubai every year becomes a new center of haute couture in the Middle East, and it is not surprising that the first show of this magnitude was held here. It once again confirmed that Dubai is not only the world capital of luxury, but also a center for the re-export of fur products.

“In this amazing city,” says Tina Jagros, “there are over 60 retailers and wholesalers of furs. They respect all new fashion trends, not forgetting the simple beauty. Our show has given many answers to the question of what luxury is. I I’m sure that the fur trade in Dubai has a great future. "
