Over 2 thousand drivers fined after reducing the speed limit in Dubai

The number of violations on the Dubai highways with a change in speed has increased dramatically.

Dubai police said a total of 4,393 fines were issued on Mohammad Bin Zayed and Emirates on October 15th.

The man complained to the authorities, citing the fact that he was not aware of the changes.

Saif Muhair Al Mazrui, director of the Dubai Police Traffic Department, said that after October 15, they were approached by many drivers whose violations were recorded by radar.

Al Mazrui emphasized that the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai police disseminated news on reducing speed limits in traditional media and social networks and using signs on two roads. He added that drivers will have to pay fines, as their ignorance does not exempt from liability.

Al Mazrui added that the number of fines in the first two days after the introduction of changes increased by 70 percent on two roads.

Dubai police said 1,000 drivers were fined on Sunday and 1,400 on Monday, while on a normal day this figure does not exceed 400.

The speed limit on both the E311 and the E611 in Dubai came into effect from midnight on Sunday, which means that cameras will record car traffic from 130 km / h as a violation.
