Emirates Airlines from the United Arab Emirates will pay great attention to the Year of Zayed.
Emirates will pay tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 2018, recognized in the UAE as the “Year of Zayed” - in 2018, the centenary of the birth of the founding father of the United Arab Emirates is celebrated.
Each month, Sheikh Zayed’s achievements and stories related to his legacy will be celebrated on the pages of Open Skies magazine. The magazine will emphasize its role in creating the United Arab Emirates. In addition, each article will tell readers where and how the vision of the late founding father was realized in the country.
The magazine is distributed among the approximately five million passengers who fly with the airline every month.
Emirates also decorated their planes with a portrait of the late Sheikh Zayed. Ten Emirates aircraft - Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER - with the image of the founding father will fly throughout 2018. This is the first time Emirates has portrayed a famous public figure on his planes.
