American designer showcase Princess Diana's favorite bag at a boutique in Dubai.
Lana Marx, an American designer of luxury handbags, was a friend of Diana, Princess of Wales, who tragically died in 1997. The princess instructed Marx to make 15 identical bags in different colors.
Now, one of Lana Marx's Princess Diana bags, adorned with a diamond heart of 225 stones weighing 3.22 carats and 18 carat gold, is in the designer’s first boutique, which opened at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, in December 2017.
“On the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana in August, I auctioned her own crocodile leather handbag to raise money for the Red Cross and help children in shelters after the Flood in Houston. Soon after, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art "Yorke took this handbag to present it to the public. It will be the only thing of Princess Diana, which is part of the permanent exhibition in the United States, and I think it is very important," says Marx.
The handbag bearing the name of Cleopatra is another favorite of the Lana Marx collection. She regularly appeared on red carpet - in the hands of Oprah Winfrey, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston. This bag is also in the Dubai boutique. Lana estimates her value at $ US 9.5 million.
