UAE named the safest country in the world

The UAE has been named the safest country in the world with the fewest crimes of sexual harassment and theft.

On the eve, the United Arab Emirates received the title of the safest country in the world in the international ranking. According to data released by the UAE Ministry of the Interior, 98.6% of the country's residents feel safe even at night.

The data was announced at a meeting of the National Council (FNC) at headquarters in the capital of the UAE.

Sheikh Saif Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, added that the UAE was ahead of Japan in the ranking of countries in which fires are least likely to occur. According to the rating, 36 fires per 100 thousand people occur in Japan.

Sheikh also added that the UAE is the country with the lowest fire mortality rate, this figure reached 0.040 per 100,000 people.

"Unfortunately, in some cases we are not able to save everyone, but we hope that we can improve this indicator, because this is our primary task."

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs noted that the UAE has become the fourth country in the world to report crimes committed with an indicator of 0.7 per 100 thousand people.
In the ranking of countries with the least number of people killed in road crashes, the United Arab Emirates ranked seventh.

"Our task is to become the first state in the world where the number of people dying in traffic accidents will be practically reduced to zero," Sheikh Saif noted.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in 2017 the death rate in road traffic accidents reached 5 people per 100 thousand, while in 2008 this figure was 13.5 people per 100 thousand.

“Our task is to reach the rate of 3 people per 100 thousand by 2021,” said Sheikh Saif.

The official also stressed that the number of UAE residents feeling safe even at night reached 98.6%. This put the UAE in second place after Singapore.

"We are confident that in the near future we will be the first in the world," the official added.

Responding to a question from a Member of the National Council, Saeed Saleh Al Rumaifi, regarding "support for people leaving prisons," Shayk Saif noted that the vast majority of prisoners undergoing a rehabilitation program had a positive result.

In the UAE, rehabilitation programs are being carried out in the following areas: education, religion, cultural development, training in new professions, sports, social support.

In the United Arab Emirates, the protection of minors has always been a major public concern.

Today, the UAE is working with many countries to improve child safety. The official noted that the Center for the Protection of Children, established under the Law on the Protection of Children, allows the UAE to exchange important information with other countries. So Sheikh Saif noted that quite recently two foreign teachers in private schools in the United Arab Emirates were arrested for their participation in ethical crimes committed abroad.
