Arab Fashion Week in Dubai will be held aboard a luxury liner

Arab Fashion Week will begin in Dubai this week.

The sixth “Arab Fashion Week” will be “the world's first fashion show on the water,” according to the organizers of the event. Arab Fashion Week will be held from May 9 to 12 aboard the luxurious Queen Elizabeth 2 airliner, which was converted into a hotel in Dubai.

As part of the four-day event, the works of 18 designers from 13 countries will be presented.

The successful first week of fashion in Saudi Arabia, which ended last month, the Arab Fashion Council also announced a partnership with Dubai MBM Holding. It is aimed at creating a fashionable and retail ecosystem to attract investment in the country, as well as expanding the concept of “Made in the UAE”.

Jacob Abrian, CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, said: “The UAE has already established itself as a fashion retail center in the region. However, our partnership with MBM Holding is consistent with the strategy to create a central channel that brings together various resources from 22 countries - be it Egyptian cotton or Tunisian fabrics - in Dubai and turning this city into a market for buyers, "said Abrian.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 liner is moored at Port Rashid.
