A contractor has been selected for the construction of a new hotel tower on Dubai's main thoroughfare.
RSG announces the appointment of Al Habbai Contracting as the main contractor for its Sabah Rotana hotel project on Dubai's main highway.
The $ 136 million contract is for the construction of a 54-story building on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The new five-star hotel is expected to be launched before the start of Expo 2020.
Sabah Rotana is implemented in cooperation between the development group of companies RSG and the company Rotana.
The tower consists of hotel rooms, serviced hotel apartments, restaurants and cafes, nightclubs and conference rooms, as well as a luxury bar at the very top of the building.
Raj Sahni, founder and chairman of the RSG group of companies, said: "It was a long way and it was difficult to choose a main contractor that would be consistent with Sabah Rotana's enthusiasm and responsibility."
The project has already received preliminary approval in the five-star category from the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing (DTCM).
