Apple tech fans spent the night in line before launching their new iPhone in Dubai.
Today, September 21, in Apple stores, sales of new iPhones have opened - iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
Dubai's most desperate tech enthusiasts spent the whole night waiting in line at a store located in Dubai Mall to be the first customers by the time it opens. Some of them had sleeping bags with them.
Moreover, Apple fans came to the UAE from other countries, including Russia. 24-year-old Vlad Mikheev from St. Petersburg told the media that he flew specifically for the new iPhone.
“It will not go on sale in Russia until next week, and I did not want to wait,” Vlad explained.
For the 27-year-old Armen Avanesyan, this is the third overnight stay at Apple appliances in Dubai.
“We came here for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X,” he said and lamented that he was in line without sleeping bags. However, according to him, buying a new device is still worth it.
26-year-old Imat Musaev said that he and his friends also specially arrived from Kyrgyzstan to purchase the latest Apple devices.
Today at Dubai Mall, sales have begun not only of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, but also of the updated Apple Watch. iPhone XS is an improved version of the iPhone X released last year. It comes with a second SIM card slot (not yet available in the UAE), longer battery life, more powerful processor and updated camera. It will also come in gold color and will cost from $ US 1,150.
The iPhone XS Max has a larger screen than the XS (6.5 inches) - it is the largest smartphone in the Apple lineup. Its cost starts at $ US 1265.
