You can now monitor air quality in the UAE through the mobile application

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates monitor air quality in real time. You can track the situation through the application.

The UAE Ministry of Climate and Environment Change (MOCCAE) in collaboration with Khalifa University of Science and Technology launched an index showing the air quality in the country in the MOCCAE application.

UAE Air Quality Index (AQI) displays the situation from the satellite in real time. The forecast is available in the application up to three days in advance.

“Air pollution is arguably one of the most important issues in the world today and has a major impact on human health and the environment,” said Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyudi, UAE Minister for Climate Change and the Environment.

Al Zeyudi added that providing public access to air quality data will help achieve strategic goals for environmental initiatives.

Currently, there are 41 air quality monitoring stations in the UAE.

AQI monitors the concentration of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide and particulate matter in the air.

For clarity, indicators of the concentration of hazardous substances in the air are indicated in the app by different colors.
