The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has launched a project that will help the university become one of the best universities in the world.
The goal of the University of the Future project is to make UAEU one of the top 20 academic institutions in Asia and the top 200 in the world by 2030.
As part of the project, UAEU teamed up with the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS) to research future education models.
UAEU Vice-Rector Professor Muhammad Albaili, confirmed that as higher education becomes more expensive and digital technology more and more common, higher education institutions need to adapt their business models and proposals to these trends in order to remain relevant.
This year, UAEU climbed to 350th place in the world.
