Transit passengers in the UAE will receive temporary SIM cards

The mobile operator from the United Arab Emirates has developed a special tariff for transit passengers at the country's airports.

Telecommunications company Etisalat has launched a new tariff for transit passengers at UAE airports. A 48-hour package worth 50 dirhams ($ US 13.6) includes 1 GB of mobile traffic and 10 minutes of calls both inside and outside the country.

The statement said that passengers can purchase the package from authorized Etisalat partners at airports and on the borders of the UAE.

The launch of the tariff followed the decision of the UAE government to provide free transit visas for 48 hours. A visa can be purchased in the passport control rooms of UAE airports and can be extended for up to 96 hours for 50 dirhams.
