Emirate of Sharjah received 400 thousand tourists from Russia

In 2018, Sharjah, the third largest emirate of the UAE, received 400 thousand tourists from Russia.

At the MITT International Tourism Exhibition in Moscow, representatives of the Sharjah Emirate’s Office for Tourism announced that the number of tourists from the Russian Federation who visited the emirate in 2018 reached 392,000.

Assessing the positive role of visa abolition in the United Arab Emirates for Russians, the Sharjah Trade and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is making ambitious plans and hopes that by 2012, up to 10 million tourists from different countries will visit the third largest emirate annually. This figure is recorded in the program document Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021, presented at the exhibition.

Participating in tourism exhibitions in Russia for 20 years, SCTDA uses this as an opportunity to best present its culture, traditions, customs, favorable natural and climatic conditions, the presence of a developed hotel chain and a variety of different types of recreation and entertainment.

This year, at the MITT exhibition held at the Moscow Expo Center, representatives of the tourism industry of the Sharjah emirate plan to concentrate on presenting opportunities for family vacations and eco-tourism.
