A delegation from the UAE visited Sochi

A representative delegation from the UAE visited Sochi on the eve of the opening of direct flights.

Dubai, UAE. A delegation from the United Arab Emirates, which included representatives of local authorities and the media, paid a three-day visit to Sochi. The organizer of the trip was the VisitRussia national tourist office in the UAE, and the host company was the travel company WOW Sochi.

The trip was timed to coincide with the upcoming opening of a direct flight between Dubai (UAE) and Sochi by flydubai on June 7 this year. On the eve of the opening of the flight, guests from the UAE had the opportunity to assess the capabilities of the modern resort of Sochi with developed infrastructure and a unique natural landscape.

Guests were told about the resort opportunities of Sochi, about relaxation in local health resorts. In turn, the Arab delegation asked to provide them with data on the events of the city in order to include them in the traveler’s calendar. This publication will allow potential tourists to plan their trips to Sochi in advance.

Sergey Tokarev, regional director of VisitRussia’s representative office in the United Arab Emirates, praised the general state of Sochi’s tourism infrastructure, highlighting its willingness to receive guests from the Gulf countries.

“The fact that Sochi is ready to receive guests was not in doubt even before our trip. As well as the fact that the new flydubai flight will significantly improve the transport accessibility of the Russian resort for tourists from the United Arab Emirates and neighboring countries. The main conclusion we made during visit - the resort of Sochi can cause interest and surprise even for such sophisticated and spoiled travelers, who are residents of the Persian Gulf countries. In this regard, the new flight is simply doomed to success, "he said.

During the visit, a delegation met with representatives of the city administration. Yulia Malorodnova, deputy head of the resorts and recreational resources department of the Sochi administration, said: "Guests from the United Arab Emirates will fly to the resort to relax, take advantage of all the resort's facilities. They are attracted by the very Krasnaya Polyana, our ecotropes, walking routes."

According to the mayor’s office, earlier air traffic between Sochi and Dubai was carried out only on charter flights during the New Year holidays. Now planes will fly between cities twice a week. On Thursday evening, tourists will fly from the UAE to Sochi. They plan to fly in the opposite direction on the night of Sunday to Monday. The contract for transportation is concluded for the coming year.
