Dubai announces school schedule for Ramadan

Dubai schools are preparing for the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates, according to preliminary data, will begin this year on May 7. The Office of Knowledge and Human Development (KHDA) has announced school schedules in Dubai schools for the holy month.

Mohammed Darwish of KHDA said that school days during Ramadan will begin from 8:00 to 8:30, and end between 13:00 and 13:30. Schools may take shorter breaks between classes at this time.

The total number of hours of study during the day for students should not exceed five hours.

Students holding the post will be exempted from physical education classes and any other activities requiring physical activity that do not affect grades and overall performance.

“All students must be protected from the risk of exhaustion and dehydration,” the official added.
