On July 24, 2019, UAE police reported the detention of an expatriate driver from Asia. At the time of his arrest, he illegally transported a passenger. It turned out that the 31-year-old car owner committed 106 traffic violations and accumulated fines totaling AED 1.14 million ($ 310,000).
According to the acting director of the police station, Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdulrahman bin Kasmul, the driver committed all violations within only one year - he received the first fine on August 16, 2018.
In connection with the incident, the police once again called on motorists to comply with traffic regulations.
