The new Bulgari collection follows the route of the Eastern Roman Empire, dominated by sapphire, emerald and ruby. These are three royal stones that traveled along the five silk, spicy and precious paths over the mountains and in the high plains of Pakistan and Tibet, through Persia and Mesopotamia.
The first Nylaia fragrance got its name from Nyla, which in Sanskrit means "blue". He pays tribute to Kashmir with its stunning sapphires, whose intense shade is as unsurpassed as their price. The most noble and sacred gems, sapphires symbolize inner strength. The Egyptians call them "star stones." These are long-standing symbols of royal power and aristocracy, divine peace and immortality. Nylaia conveys this power through one of the finest ingredients in the perfumer’s palette: iris pallida. Alberto Morillas mixes it with jasmine, benzoin and white musk and ambergris.
Veridia from Latin viridis, "green", plays a peculiar game on the contrasts between galban, vanilla and frankincense. This fragrance is responsible for the emerald in the collection, reminiscent of the richness and splendor of the Byzantine imperial gardens. The intense green color of the emerald, the faceting of the stone and how it refracts light are harmoniously reflected in this unique aroma of long-lasting energy, where fresh notes of galbanum, precious natural frankincense and soft notes of vanilla produce an unexpected combination of hot and cold. Esoteric emerald has long been considered a talisman, a symbol of eternity and spirituality. Closely interwoven with the royal family, emeralds also symbolize Bulgari's commitment to innovation. In the fifties, Bulgari became the first jewelry brand to combine emeralds with turquoise and amethysts.
The passionate heart of a ruby pulsates in Rubinia, whose name is due to the Italian word for ruby. This fragrance inflames feelings with luxurious ingredients. The combination of bright citrus notes, referring to the solar brightness of Sicilian mandarin, is enhanced by the pressure of sandalwood with bright accents and is emphasized by an exciting dipterix. In India, rubies were considered the “queen of precious stones”. They are often described as blood drops of the gods. The deep red shade of the rarest mineral made it a luxury for both powerful men and women.
