Bvlgari exhibition opens in Kremlin Museums

This year the Moscow Kremlin Museums will host an exhibition of the luxury brand Bvlgari.

On September 7, 2018, a retrospective exhibition entitled “The Charm of Femininity. The Magnificence of Roman Jewelry” will be launched at the Moscow Kremlin Museums, dedicated to the evolution of the style of the Roman brand Bvlgari for over 100 years.

Bvlgari’s concept, delicate taste and craftsmanship can be traced back to more than 500 pieces of jewelry created from the late 19th century to the 1990s.

The exhibition "The Charm of Femininity. The Magnificence of Roman Jewels" will be organized on the first floors of the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great and the Patriarchal Palace. The exhibits show a deep connection between the creative inspiration of Bvlgari and the changing needs of women, the evolution of their taste and the history of emancipation. Reflecting the cultural and social changes that have occurred in the life of the fair sex, the exhibits commemorate the charm of women who set their own rules and chose Bvlgari for self-expression in a formal and informal setting.

The Kremlin will exhibit multifaceted works that trace the entire spectrum of possible life styles and situations - from an aristocrat to a movie star, from a business meeting to a friendly party.

A valuable addition to exquisite work for visitors will be photos from different eras, which depict the charm of women in its endless diversity. This impressive anthology of jewelry includes items never before exhibited, such as the amazing 1930s tiara with a unique diamond and aquamarine pattern that Infanta Beatrice of Spain put on on her wedding day.

The Dolce Vita section of the exhibition talks about the passion that the brightest and most famous movie stars had for Bvlgari jewelry. Visitors will be able to see the complete collection of Bvlgari Heritage jewelry that once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. Elements of the collection mark the delicate taste and unmistakable flair of the collector. Among the exhibits of incredibly beautiful necklace with 17 Colombian emeralds and a sautoir with a bewitching cone-shaped sapphire weighing more than 60 carats.

A special place is also occupied by items from the collection of the Italian actress Anna Magnani, who played the main role in the film "Rome - an open city" in the style of neorealism. On the screen, she got images of rebels with modest possibilities, and in real life, the actress loved expensive jewelry, such as one of Bvlgari's most luxurious creations - a Trombino ring with a sparkling diamond weighing more than 25 carats.

Another Italian diva, Gina Lollobrigida, preferred emeralds. Her platinum earrings with emerald pendants perfectly set off all the magnetism and divine charm of the talented actress, who was also involved in sculpture and photography.

You can not ignore the cabochon sapphires Anita Ekberg, whose scene from the movie "Sweet Life" in the Trevi Fountain in a black evening dress will forever remain a symbol of the bohemian luxury of a bygone magical era.

An unrivaled sense of color is evident in all Bvlgari products from the post-war period. Then the women wanted to pamper themselves, and jewelry such as a compact plastron necklace or an exquisite flower basket of the Giardinetto brooch came in handy.

Works of the 70s refer to pop art and other exotic trends of the most daring decade. Another section of the exhibition is dedicated to the legends of Bvlgari's creative flight, as well as innovative techniques and motifs that have fundamentally changed the traditional approach to jewelry, the art of wearing jewelry and modern women. Parentesi, Bvlgari's first collection of modular jewelry, has demonstrated the ability of a jewelery house to beat a single, striking element that can be repeated countless times in different materials.

The innovative ready-to-wear approach allowed to produce products in a large price range, as well as expand the range of their application - from business meetings to evening cocktails.

Tubogas flexible tapes also develop the idea of versatility, the dominant sophisticated elegance of which combined with all the outfits and circumstances. Tubogas gold and steel modules marked the beginning of a series of bold experiments with materials that led to the creation of truly revolutionary jewelry in which precious stones and gold elements were attached to removable silk cords. This brilliant, unparalleled solution allowed women to adapt the jewelry to their chosen dress.

In the creation of the Chandra collection, round beads from another pleasant to the touch material, porcelain were used. These unusual and timeless products were captured in commemorative photography with the brandy.

The triumphant return of Bvlgari to its Roman roots is symbolized by works using ancient coins, embodying a deep respect for the past, combined with an avant-garde approach.

The exhibition "The Charm of Femininity. The Magnificence of Roman Jewels" will run until January 13, 2019.
