Dubai, UAE. The famous Broadway musical "Les Miserables" will be included in the program of the first theatrical season of the Dubai Opera, on the stage of which it will go on for two weeks - from November 10 to 24.
In the original, Les Miserables is an epic novel by the French classic Victor Hugo, which was later recognized as one of the greatest works of the 19th century. The premiere of the very first musical took place in 1980 at the Palais des Sports in Paris. And the English-language production has not left the stage for more than 30 years and is called the longest-running musical in the history of the West End.
The production on Broadway opened on March 12, 1987 and went on without interruptions until 2003. In total, Les Miserables has won over one hundred prestigious theater awards. In the spring of 2014, the play returned to the Broadway stage.
Since the release of the production in 1987, one of the most popular musical works has become the composition "I Dreamed a Dream". Viewers will also recognize such classics as "On My Own", "Bring Him Home", "Master Of The House" and many others. Songs performed by most actors emphasize the amazing story of the novel.
