During the past year, police officers made 862 arrests in the Dubai Metro that related to minor offenses. The largest number of them was produced at Ittihad - 134 station, at Deira City Center station - 123, at Rashidiya station - 117, at Karama station - 51, at Khalid Bin Al Waleed station - 42 and at Mall of the Emirates - 40 station. The largest number of arrests was made by junior sergeant Maryam Matar, who detained about 43 people for violation. "Most of the crimes committed involved cases of pickpocketing and minor thefts that were recorded by security cameras or reported by passengers," Atika Tani said. "Today, 4,700 of these cameras are installed in the Dubai Metro."

In addition to cases of theft, the department also has to deal with all kinds of other offenses and emergency situations that usually occur in public transport. “We have many cases when passengers faint or suffer from other health problems while on the subway. The number of such cases increases during peak hours, when the cars are full,” said Atika Tani. “In such cases, we always have carriages ready "In addition, train controllers who monitor order know what to do in such situations because they have received appropriate training and instructions."
