From May 17 to May 18, 2008, the leaders of the largest Moscow and regional agencies of the Russian Federation gathered in the city of Dubai (UAE) to mark the 85th anniversary of Aeroflot. As part of the opening of a new charity project of the Aeroflot Bonus program - Miles of Mercy, the guests of the evening, which was held at the famous luxury hotel Mina A'Salam of the Jumerah Hotels & Resorts chain, were invited to donate their accumulated miles to the account of Give Life, who works under the patronage of famous Russian actresses - Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun.
Any member of the program “Miles of Mercy” today can donate part of the bonus miles accumulated by him to the account of the charity fund by filling out a special application form for their transfer. The transferred miles will be used in future to receive award tickets for organizing the transportation of children with cancer, hematological and other serious illnesses sent for treatment abroad or to Moscow from Russian cities accompanying them, as well as for receiving tickets for doctors who provide assistance to these children.
The donation of the first miles at the Aeroflot birthday party in Dubai took place in the form of an auction, the lots of which were prizes and gifts from the organizers of the event. The first philanthropists entered their names in the history of the Miles of Mercy program: Alexander Gribanov (Aviaexpress agency, Krasnoyarsk), Alexey and Pavel Proklov (Transtur agency, Moscow).
The total amount of miles donated to the fund account in the Aeroflot Bonus program amounted to more than 1 million! More than 70 flights - the approximate equivalent of this amount in miles. The result of the auction evokes sincere respect, admiration and instills confidence in the success of the joint charity project. In the future, cooperation with other charitable organizations is planned to help as many children as possible.
The evening, dedicated to the celebration of the 85th anniversary of Aeroflot, gathered many friends of the airline under the roof of Mina A'Salam: directors and representatives of leading Russian and Dubai travel companies, emirate businessmen and journalists. Guests here were waiting for the exposition of exhibition posters for the 85th anniversary, a welcome cocktail, awarding of the best tour operators during a gala dinner and an entertainment program. During the solemn part, a number of agency leaders were awarded honorary diplomas for their personal contribution to the development of the airline. The organizers and initiators of the holiday were Sergey Obryvalin, Director of the Aeroflot's Department of Business Administration in the Russian Federation and his deputy Svetlana Petrova.
As part of the evening, the best agents of Aeroflot - Russian Airlines were awarded the Silver Wings Award. Among the awarded were: Denis Matyukhin, General Director of AeroClub; Alexey and Pavel Proklov, General Director and Vice President, TRANSTUR TRAVEL company; Aleksey Spirin and Vadim Mukoed, General Director and President of the VP Service Service Corporation; Tatyana Gerashchenko, general director of American Express International Services, and Alexander Gribanov, general director of Aviaexpress.
The festive cake with the Aeroflot logo was solemnly cut and quickly eaten. And the holiday ended with a wonderful music and dance program with the participation of the Moral Codex group and its soloist Sergei Mazaev. The next day, an exciting jeep trip to the desert was organized, having a local, Arabic flavor.
