Dubai is getting ready for a grand bike ride

In Dubai, roads are closed for the duration of the Dubai Tour 2018 bike race.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a plan to organize the 6th run of the Dubai Tour 2018. A number of alternative routes are proposed for motorists to avoid temporary closure of roads.

The Dubai Tour consists of five stages, which will be held from February 6 to 10 from 11:00 to 15:30 daily.

The entire cycle race route covers 870 km, both in Dubai and in other emirates.

The following alternative routes are suggested for this day: Abdullah Omran bin Taryam Street, Al Thaniya Street, Hessa Street, Sheikh Zayed Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Yalayes Road, Emirates Road, Al Manara Street and First Al Khail Road

The second stage will be held on Wednesday, February 7. It also starts with Skydive Dubai on King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street and passes through Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, Dubai Design District, Ras Al Khor Street, Al Aweer Road, Emirates Road, and then moves to the Emirates of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Abdullah Omran bin Taryam Street, Hessa Street, Al Thaniya Street, Sheikh Zayed Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Manama Street, and First Al Khail Road are suggested as alternatives to blocked streets.

The third stage will be held on February 8. It will include Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khail Road, Ras Al Khor Street, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Academic City Street, Al Aweer Road and Hatta-Oman Road. The race will move to the emirates of Sharjah and Fujairah.

On February 9, race participants will again go to Umm Suqeim Street and drive along Al Khail Road, Ras Al Khor Street, Al Aweer Road and Hatta-Oman Road with a stop in Sharjah, Fujairah, Hatta.
