Dubai Airlines suspends flights of Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 series

Flydubai has decided to temporarily abandon the operation of its latest Boeing 737 aircraft, the MAX 8 and 9 series.

Flydubai cancels flights with the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9, according to an order issued by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

As stated on the airline’s website, to prevent flight delays, the airline will operate flights on Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The date of the resumption of flights is not reported. Most likely, the carrier suspended the use of airliners until the results of an investigation into the crash in Ethiopia were received.

Over the past six months, two air crashes involving the Boeing 737 MAX have occurred in the world, 346 people have died in them. The last crash occurred on March 10 in Ethiopia. The plane crashed six minutes after departure from Addis Ababa Airport. All 157 people on board died. Among the victims of the crash are citizens of 33 countries, including three Russians - Ekaterina Polyakova, Alexander Polyakov and Sergey Vyalikov.

A massive refusal by international airlines to use this type of aircraft began after another incident - the Boeing 737 Max 8 airliner, flying from Stockholm to Tel Aviv, turned to the departure airport. It is reported by the Swedish edition of Aftonbladet.

From the evening of March 12, the European Union also suspended flights of the Boeing 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX. In addition, at least 27 airlines around the world have abandoned their use.

The Russian airline S7 Airlines also decided to abandon the operation of the Boeing 737 MAX after the crash of a similar aircraft in Africa. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the company.
