Dubai, UAE. For the first time in Dubai, at the initiative of Alpha Events and the support of Dubai Parks & Resorts, the international dance competition Dubai Dance Olympics is held among dance groups, professionals and lovers of dance. Everyone is invited who loves to dance and wants to get a professional rating from the expert jury, as well as spectators of enchanting dance shows and the choreography festival!
Terms of participation and age groups
Applications for participation are both group and individual. Enthusiastic participants who are not representatives of any dance school or studio can apply for participation in the Student Choreography category.
Choreographic numbers are presented in the following age categories: 5-7 years old, 8-12 years old, 13-17 years old, from 18 years old. The participant belongs to the age category according to the age of November 1, 2017. The age category of a group performance is determined by the age of the oldest member of the group.
The participant can present 1 solo number, as well as participate in choreographic numbers (up to three) as part of various groups / duets. Room duration is limited to 1.45 - 3.5 minutes of musical accompaniment. Musical accompaniment must correspond to the age category of the participant, not contain offensive texts or curses.
Musical accompaniment must be pre-submitted for registration of the participant to the following email addresses [email protected]. Music-enabled USB presented for the performance should be clearly marked.
The organizer provides management, sound and lighting equipment. Special conditions and equipment are discussed in advance. Registered participants themselves provide costumes, musical instruments and other additional equipment, if it is used for choreographic staging.
Choreographic numbers are accepted for participation in the following categories:
- Classical dance (classic ballet, contemporary)
- Street dance (hip-hop, robotic, popping, locking, r-n-b, dancehall, vogue)
- Ballroom dancing (jazz, tap, ballroom / latino show dance on stage)
- Ethnic dances (Indian dance, arabic dance, flamenco, caucasian, afro dance)
- Sports dances among women (pole dance, ariel dance, burlesque dance / burlesque acrobatic)
Nominations and Prizes
All participants receive certificates. Category winners will be awarded with medals and memorable prizes from the organizers. Additional prizes are provided in the categories for the best costume, the best styling (Hair & make up), creativity and the "Choice of the public."
Registration and participation
The registration fee is US $ 25 for each participant in the competition program and includes the opportunity to participate in the show and free access to Motiongate and Bollywood parks on the days of the festival.
A ticket for spectators costs 250 dirhams, which provides entrance to the show at the Raj Mahal Theater on the days of the festival, access for 2 days of the festival in Bollywood Park and for 1 day of the festival in Motiongate park.
