Abu Dhabi launches space tourism

Emirate investment company Aabar announced a competition among citizens of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the right to become the first space tourist. The ticket will cost US $ 250 thousand. The conditions for the selection of the first space tourist from the UAE will be announced shortly.

Virgin Galactic plans to launch the first commercial flight of a suborbital spacecraft during 2014. SpaceShipTwo, which is being tested and certified, takes six passengers and two pilots on board. Earlier it was reported that the flight will last about 150 minutes, including a five-minute stay in zero gravity. Already about 700 people from 58 countries have booked tickets for upcoming commercial flights into space.
